It was with great satisfaction that CBAB met his new impact factor (IF). The IF of 2014 is 0.562 and represents an increase of nearly 12% on the IF of 2013. A biggest increase (of almost 19%) was obtained with the IF of the last 5 years, reaching 0.658.

Fundamentally, the impact factor of CBAB shows upward trend in line with the growth of the internationalization and the improvement of the quality of the Journal.

This is another victory to be shared among all the actors involved in CBAB, being authors, reviewers and technical, secretarial and editorial staff. Without the unconditional support of all and especially the board of SBMP, it would not be possible to reach such indexes.

We had two more good news recently received by CBAB related to the editor-in-chief L A S Dias. The first one was his election to the CNPq Agronomy Advisory Committee as an alternate member. This was possible because of the support of SBMP’s board. The second was the inclusion of his name among the Brazilian researchers most cited on Google Scholar platform, according to the Webometrics Ranking of World Universities. The editor-in-chief is among the eighteen UFV (Federal University of Viçosa) professors listed in the ranking of the six thousand most cited Brazilian researchers, accompanied by notorious breeders, as professors Cosme Damião Cruz and Aluízio Borém.
